CCNU Artist Wang Kaiping’s New Album Released Globally
Today, the violin collection As Sparse as the Morning Stars produced by Wang Kaiping, associate professor of CCNU and Doctor Peng Site is released after their last album Carnegie Story 2016.
As an active violinist and viola player, Wang has performed in over 50 countries and regions. He was awarded “The Most Outstanding Musician” in several crucial global music festivals and he serves as Permanent Judge in many primary international music competitions.
Wang has been keeping on putting those little-known but valuable works on the map. Three pieces collected in this album, with the help of many top producers in the industry, are released at home for the first time. The Universal Music executives take it as an album that promotes the performance of rare works of violin to a brand new level.
F. Busoni Violin Sonata No.1 in E Minor Op.29 was composed by Busoni in combination with the influence of German and Italian music. Busoni manipulated skills and the spirit of music to demonstrate his mastery in this pieces.
02F. Chopin Cello Sonata in F Minor Op.65 by Chopin expresses a kind of sorrow and bitterness. He maintained the strong feeling of longing, leaving and raging. Along with the piano, the sound of violin presents his anger and grief when he ended his last relationship.
03Airs Hongrois Varies, Op.22 was created by H. W. Ernst. It has not been played frequently as a result of the complex skills it requires. Alternative executions magnify its theme and make it almost the extremity of violin playing.
Wang stated when talking about the album, “Those relatively unknown but ear-catching pieces can also inspire us. The album presents three distinctly different works that are worth memorizing. As for me, the value and soul of music deserve to live on.”
